This is Johannes Arsjo in 2009 hitting a crazy 409 pounds on an axle jerk. If you’ve never trained with an axle or a thick bar, they make everything a lot more…interesting, which is to say more difficult and fun.
And of all the exercises I love to do with my axle, I’m the crappiest at the axle clean and jerk. I have even more trouble with it than the deadlift, just because it’s traveling so much quicker.
Very, very strong stuff.
