My New Blog Is Alive And Needs You

by Josh Hanagarne on July 8, 2010

A lot has changed since I began writing World’s Strongest Librarian in April of 2009. It was originally going to be 99% fitness. That has obviously changed. It changed because I didn’t want to write about fitness every day. As the readers began to pour in, most of them weren’t here for the fitness stuff anyways.

But I’ve gotten antsy. I’ve been eager to get back to writing about training and celebrating pure physical culture. With the changes ’round here, the massive shift back into that realm would be too great for my current crop of readers.

Besides, I love what I’m writing about here on WSL and plan on doing it for the next decade.

So to make the precarious balancing act even precariouser (sp?) I am proud to announce my new project: The Strength Rules.

There are two:

1. Strength Training should be fun

2. All progress is worth celebrating

It’s going to be an agenda-free, non-denominational gathering place for anyone interested in fitness, strength, nutrition, and anything and everything that I find that I think is worth spotlighting.

Please come check it out. (and don’t abandon World’s Strongest Librarian!)

Josh

So that’s why it’s called “The Strongest Librarian.” I figured that was about overcoming adversity rather than literal physical strength. :)

This is great! I have worked out since I was 20 (am 63 now) as a part of an eating disorder which I have mostly over-come). I work around asthma and arthritis but I keep on pushing. Right now I am trying to decide if I would be able to handle kettlebells with my arthritic hands (which I push to the max as an artist) and which seem to be holding their own. I am using a 10lb dumbbell to do a pseudo kettlebell swing (is that what you call it?) just to see if I can do it. It seems fine, but I wonder if holding the kettlebell is harder.

I think it was the strength part that attracted me to your blog in the first place so I am really happy to see the new blog! I think it will be very successful!

Love your two rules. I think agree whole heartedly with both!

I’m so IN! Of course I won’t abandon World’s Strongest, either, but yeah, I’ll check the other one out too. Josh, this ROCKS! :D
