Poll: Goals Update 2010

You there!

As the year races to its mid-point, how do you feel about your progress towards your goals? What are you working on? What have you knocked out already? What have been your victories? Your frustrations?

There’s a whole lotta year left, but it’s flying by!

Josh

I feel like I’m only just starting to get going on my goals. Had a slow start to the year when I suddenly found myself with nowhere to live and resided at the bottom of a friend’s garden for 6 weeks.

But things are good, and actually, I needed that time to think and focus me and it’s made me much more aware about what is important to me and where i want to concentrate my efforts.

      Hi Amy,

I’m glad you found somewhere to live. I was homeless for almost 3 years. No fun, that. I just visited – and subscribed to – your blog; great stuff! Continued success to you. 🙂

I have so many goals to look forward to this year that it’s easy to get excited about them, but also easy to get overwhelmed at times! I guess my main goal should be to pare down the goal list that I have!

Some are progressing along nicely. I’m reading more than ever, a lot of personal development stuff (right now reading a book on championship fathering), plans for a kitchen remodel are on schedule (will start working on it in July), and my family will attend a game at Yankee Stadium in June.

Others still need the level of effort and commitment that I promised in January. Although I think my blog has quality content, I don’t post as frequently as I should. Ditto with the journal I have, need to write in that more as well. Professionally, I had a slow first quarter of sales, so I will need a strong finish in the last half of the year to reach my goal, which will definitely happen.

Before the end of the year, I will do a hundred push ups without stopping. Right now I’m at 25-35, depending on the day. Lots of work needed there!

Thanks for asking Josh. A post like this is a subtle reminder to review those goals. And writing them down (yet again) sets them in stone even more….

      Hey George – Go Yankees!

I just referred a friend to the 10 push up challenge. I was wondering if you had any tips beyond what their website listed. I told him to print a calendar and keep it on his fridge. Any suggestions that I could pass along?

  • Wow, I guess I didn’t really think about the year being almost half-gone already. My major goal this year is to get 2 more products out. A small one and a really big one. So far, so good, but the clock sure is ticking fast.

Getting married this year, so that’s a total plus, but it will definitely slow the business down for a little bit. I am totally convinced that 2010 is going to be much more successful than 2009.

Physical goals are coming right along. I want to be 190lbs by July, and I’m sitting around 185 right now so I’m coming right along there. I also got the BUP of the 32kg nailed down easily now. All in all, I’m pleased with my progress.

Ack! Almost halfway?? Feel like I’m percolating and bubbling – but not moving strongly yet on my goals. Lots of ideas, lots of potential, lots of good conversations, but lots of uncertainty and ambiguity and little movement on my top goals.

I may need to re-jigger my goals, think about values, do a mind map, make some money. I need to hire a pants-kicker (what does that job description look like?)

I feel I have a lot to learn about listening to my own body and not tiring myself up when I train (Biofeedback), but I’m getting there. I’ve almost gotten rid of chronical pain and stiffness in my groin thanks to Biofeedback.

I’m very pleased with my progress in BJJ!

Not live in a cardboard box by end of summer…

I’m working on my patience and self-confidence.
I have achieved a small step toward my dream by becoming a teenage columnist for the local newspaper.
I’m frustrated because nothing rhymes with orange. 😉
    Lol, nice post!

    Hey Josh!

Well, let’s see. The goals I started out with January 1st are not the same goals I have now. I think goals should be be fluid enough to allow for change yet rigid enough so that you aren’t all over the place. That being mentioned, things are moving along quite nicely, thank you, and I hope your goals are being met as well buddy! 😀

My wedding and travel goals are complete! My goal of identifying actionable goals is complete! Posting my goals on my website so I can be held publicly accountable for them is…. well, partially complete! Time to focus in.
