Such a hard choice on a favorite, Muppet. They all have such appealing qualities. Henson really was a genius.

Hi Robby,
Nothing has turned up re: connection between Gonzo and Hunter S. Thompson. I wonder if Henson was influenced by Thompson’s writing in some way. I also checked on Gonzo’s creator as well. No connection there either.

I see an Animal/Grover combo coming through here. Animal, for sure. Honest, raw, unfiltered Josh can definitely be seen in Animal. Josh, you are a much better speaker than Animal and you’ve got the curiosity of Grover so I thought I’d give you the combo package.

Robby, I checked around for a link between Gonzo the Great and Hunter S Thompson. Nothing concrete yet, though after Thompson the word did come to mean “with reckless abandon”. Certainly fits Gonzo’s personality!
