I'm laughing right now. Right after I submitted my goals and 'fessed up to being scared about #4, I get a tweet from someone I follow that has a fitness blog. He's advertising a series on Fitness for Beginners! LOL

I'm going with what I found over on 6changes.com. I'm still refining and need to make them more specific, I think, but my 6 are:
1) Decluttering my house one room per week over the next 8 weeks
2) Keeping the house clean (I work 2 jobs, things tend to get messy if they're not deemed "important")
3) Eating healthier
4) Daily exercise by the end of the year
5) Use my creativity daily
6) Daily prayer / Bible study

And I'll admit. Putting #4 in writing and even that specific scares me. But I believe if I can get the first and second goals' habits in place, I'll be able to ditch the excuse of "no time" for #4! I hope. :)

1. prepare another article (or more) for publication in professional journal
2. take blog to next level; research buying own domain name
3. survive difficult boss by working closely with instead with those who share my teaching philosophy and commitment to kids

JH,

this just literally popped (ha ha I initially wrote pooped) into my head. If you are no longer punching the clock in 2011, then you will no longer be the world's strongest librarian. Other suggestions...

The world's strongest unlibrarian, nonlibrarian, former librarian, hobo? :-)

That's an awesome goal regardless of your new title.

1) Reverse bend a nail, my target is end of February, but its really dependant on my tendons getting stronger...
2) Deadlift 140kg (300lbs) which is double bodyweight (for now) I think this will fall easy once I actually start training it
3) Press my 32kg KB with BOTH arms. (I can only just press 25kg for 1 rep at the mo)
4) Complete a grade 6a climbing route (it's all technique from 5+ I can't just use strength to cheat!)
5) Reduce my bodyfat percentage from 18% to around 12%
6) Two hand pinch 50kg and get in the British top 50. (Unofficially unless I attend a grip competition)
7) Complete a one arm press up
