13 Days of Darkness Part 2- The Invisible Deer

One day closer to Halloween.

Today I have a terrifying tale of a military experiment gone terribly, horribly, abominably wrong.  If you live through it, find your loved ones and hold them tight.  There are dark forces at work in this world.

    Oh deer.

  • Ben (from TIC) October 20, 2009, 6:12 am

I had the volume nice and loud and jumped out of my seat at one point–nice editing work! I’m so ready for Reformation Day, I mean, Halloween.

  • Jenny October 20, 2009, 6:59 am

I have to admit, I was straightening my hair and watching this and I jumped when the deer and the scary music came up. Looks like I need to make another shirt for ya… http://bit.ly/3X7ia8

  • Casey Brazeal (North and Clark) October 20, 2009, 10:18 am

You got me with that horn cue. I jumped in the Cafe I am sitting in.

    • Josh Hanagarne October 20, 2009, 10:42 am

Casey, make everyone in that cafe subscribe:)

  • Larissa October 20, 2009, 10:36 am

    I’m awake! 😉

    • Josh Hanagarne October 20, 2009, 10:42 am

I’m sure you couldn’t sleep with the glare of my head shining through your eyelids.

  • Jessica Marie October 20, 2009, 12:46 pm

Awesome story (and new haircut.) I jumped as well (and I’m at work.)

    • Josh Hanagarne October 20, 2009, 12:51 pm

Jessica, turn up the volume and make everyone watching youtube on the library computers jump as well.

I never heard about this. I remember when you guys got stuck out there. Scary. I bet it was an invisible deer! Do you REMEMBER how messed up Nevada was? I am telling you that sick s&*% happens there everyday lol. IT DOES!

    • Josh Hanagarne October 20, 2009, 1:34 pm

Megan, I can remember everything that I haven’t repressed.

      • Megan Horton October 20, 2009, 7:35 pm

Josh I have tried to repress about 96% of the stuff that happened in Nevada, but it’s not gone well for me. Maybe that’s my problem….

Nevada is a godforsaken place full of zombie deer apparently. Actually I suppose zombie deer would be slow.

  • Patty - Why Not Start Now? October 20, 2009, 1:33 pm

Nice storytelling, Josh! And it reminds me of a terrifying story of my own, when my car broke down on a long lonely stretch of Hwy 80 and I had to actually spend the night in Elko waiting for it to be repaired. Scary!

    • Josh Hanagarne October 20, 2009, 1:34 pm

Patty, that is terrifying. The part about Elko. Good thing you escaped to tell the rest of world.

  • Shane October 20, 2009, 7:27 pm

Did that tuba sound like s***, or was that me!!!!!

    • Josh Hanagarne October 20, 2009, 8:34 pm

Shane, it sounds like it scared everyone. I absolutely did not have that in mind when I did it. I just thought it was funny.

      • Shane October 21, 2009, 5:14 am

You owe me a pair of boxers! 🙂

  • Mario October 21, 2009, 11:36 am

I nearly got a cardiac arrest from this one! Good work, Josh.

    • Josh Hanagarne October 21, 2009, 11:46 am

Mario, I’m glad you’re still alive. I’d hate to be the one who murdered you by accident, although I would probably blame that deer:)

      • Mario October 21, 2009, 11:52 am

I’m glad my girlfriend wasn’t watching this with me, because every time she holds a drink in her hand and something like that deer thing happens I got wet.

Oh yes, glad you would have an alibi when I lay down dead in front of my computer with your blog on the screen.

  • Brian Heys October 21, 2009, 11:37 am

Great little story, Josh, and very well narrated too. I’d love to try reading out one of my stories on camera like that.

I didn’t read any of the comments prior to watching the video, so I’m glad I wasn’t holding a hot coffee when that deer popped up on the screen! 😉

    • Josh Hanagarne October 21, 2009, 11:45 am

Brian, I find that the videos usually make the stories more fun once in a while. I’d love to see you take a crack at it.
