Please Vote: World’s Strongest Librarian Nominated For Super Duper Fancy Award (or something…)

by Josh Hanagarne on October 6, 2009

And now phase B. is here…I start asking you for favors!

I got an email today informing me that World’s Strongest Librarian has been nominated for a Utah Social Media Club Award in the People’s Choice category.

1. I don’t know what that means

2. But it sounds fancy, right?

Here’s how we find out what it’s all about

You can read up on the awards and vote from this page. Once I win, I’ll come back with tales of glory and exploits and share all the booty and spoils with you all.  Assuming there are booty and spoils to be had.

To vote, you need to give my name and URL (WSL’s address) and come up with a lie about what a jolly, deserving fellow I am.  If you need prompts for compliments, pull up a chair…I’ll talk about myself for a year.

So let’s figure out what this is.  Remember…spoils and booty!

Vote now, play later.  Get your family and friends involved.  Particularly if they like…spoils and booty.

Josh

Will do. Do you get to read all the submissions about yourself for a self-esteem boost? :)

Jessica, I don’t think so. Believe me, if my head got any bigger, none of us would survive it. It would blot out the sun itself.

Josh-
Since you asked…

I picked up the term “Shaka” from living in surfer central in So Cal for many years. It originated in Hawaii as a term for “alright” or “cool” or “awesome” or used as a gesture of friendship or greetings (or, “Time to surf”).

It is usually accompanied by a hand sign, thumb and forefinger extended. I often heard the term, “shaka that” or “shaka bro.”

I think I managed to vote for you the final day. Not sure how it goes with the time difference since I’m in Europe. Good luck though.
