“Utterly Aseductive.”

something that may have happened:

Winter is officially here, which means everyone is stacked on top of one another in the library. Everywhere I look, someone is draped over something, not seductively. When I said this to a co-worker, she said: “No, it’s utterly aseductive.”

At that very moment, a couple walked in front of us. He held her from behind. She was at least 300 lbs, wearing pajamas, her pale stomach hanging out of her shirt. He was wearing a super white coat with a leopard print scarf. They were doing the lurchy walk that you can only do when trying to hold someone from behind.

She looked back and up at him mid-shuffle and moaned, “Oh baby, you gotta hold me like you mean it. I really do not wanna tell you again.”

He adjusted. I do not know if it met her needs.

Oh man, this scene is just priceless. It’s nice to know (I think) that other libraries see this kind of….PDA. It makes me cringe and laugh at the same time.

I have only been working in the library world for 2 years and I can’t believe some of the things people do and say. My library is in a tiny town where I know most of the people, which makes it even more awkward for me!

    Aseductive indeed!

    Haha…aseductive…you should definitely submit
that word to Merriam-Webster or Urban Dictionary.
Love this description so much. And Josh
I updated my phone and lost my recent
Contacts from the past year…so was wondering
If I could get your information again? Janette’s too?

I could read a whole book of your library vignettes!

Karen, that is what I have been telling him. More vignettes, please.
