Speaking at SXSW

Hi all, just a quick notice. I learned yesterday that I’ll be speaking at SXSW 2014.

It’s in March, it’s in Austin, and if any of you are from the area and come for the freak show, I hope you’ll come say hi.

On the horror/Halloween front, if you haven’t read anything by Jack Ketchum, I just read Lost. It’s an effective, disturbing story about (in a very roundabout way) a guy who wishes he was taller. More than that, I shan’t say.

Josh

Hi Josh. I just finished your book, and I am popping in to say thanks! My 11 year old who adores reading has Tourette’s, which was the main reason that I was drawn to your book. After reading your story, it’s crazy how many similarities that my life has with your family. I am about your age, went to Ricks College in the mid 90’s, I grew up and spent most of my adult life in the DC north area (PG county, and I’ve seen some crazy stuff). I live in Utah now, and am LDS. More than anyone, I relate to your mom as I try to navigate this whole scary Tourettes thing, and how I can best help my family. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop before I do. Oh and “Our plans of salvation might be aligning” — pure comic GENIUS. I didn’t expect to laugh so much in a book about TS.

Came across your site thanks to your interview with Srini Rao. SXSW should hopefully be super fun. As a musician raised in Hawaii I always dreamed of taking my band to SXSW, but never made it. Hope that rocks.
