Poll: Breaking Bad

Ok y’all, Breaking Bad is going to be back to wrap things up in a couple of weeks. I’m going to be genuinely sad when it’s done.

Are you watching it?

Got any predictions?

How would you like the show to end?

All I feel is that it’s going to end badly for Walt.

I think Walt will definitely die. Either Hank will kill him or Jesse will. Then Jesse will become the new meth king. I get some kind of Shakespearean vibe when I think of the finale – it will end as a classic tragedy.

Walt is doomed. I like Jack M’s prediction. The only reason that Walt and Jesse have survived through everything so far is a strange, underlying sense of loyalty that Walt feels for Jesse. So it would be a little poetic if Jesse is the one to end it.

I actually think Walt’s going to get away with everything, and the cancer’s going to come back. The cancer has been so downplayed in the last couple of seasons that I think that’s going to be it.

I forgot all about the cancer! You are probably right. Then the story would come full circle. In any event, it can’t be a happy ending. What a brilliant show!

How ironic if cancer is what finally does Walt in. Also poetic justice.

I will seriously be sad when it’s over. I bet some actors will be happy though, now that they’ll have a chance at winning the awards Cranston nabs every year.

Has anyone ever noticed that most of the T-shirts and sweatshirts that Jesse wears have either a skull or a skeleton on them? Wonder if it’s an indicator of his ultimate fate?

I’m so excited to watch the final episodes but I’m going to be BEREFT when it’s over. Boo hoo hoo!

Best show going. I think you’re spot on with the cancer prediction. Either that, or Hank has to take him down. (Or maybe a combo–Walt knows he’s dying, and lets Hank take him down to be the big hero again.) I think Jesse is the indestructible cockroach in this equation.

I’m addicted to this show about addiction. Interviews with the cast in the extra features on the Netflix discs suggest that the last season is going to be intense and probably surprise us all, because everyone gets slammed. Sounds as if the writers may be inspired by Greek tragedy.

I’m going to be sad when it’s done for sure. It’s like a favorite book that you put off finishing because you like the characters so much you can’t stand the thought of them not being around any more (although, I guess that’s a little strange in this context given who the characters are and what they are doing).

I have no idea how it will end. After last season, it’s hard to know. It could go anywhere. I don’t think Jesse would take Mr. White down, under any circumstances. Hank isn’t bright enough to take him down, and while that would give everything a sort of closure, I don’t think a clean, full-circle ending would be consistent with the vibe of the rest of the show. It’s got to surprise and be crazy. Probably tragic, but I just don’t know how specifically.

I just watched the 8/1 Stephen Colbert interview with Brian Cranston…funny!
