More advance press for the book. Publisher’s Weekly just posted a great review of The World’s Strongest Librarian, which you can read here.
This might get corrected, but they’re currently saying I’m only 6’4″, when I’m actually a regal 6’7″. Go see now so you can tell your children you witnessed the error!

I agree, it’s an excellent review and I’m really happy for you because this is a real “feather in your cap” kind of publication too.
It struck me as strange in a way though (and of course I haven’t read the book yet so I’m not sure how you come across in it) but the Josh in that review somehow doesn’t “feel” like the Josh I know from this blog. Don’t get me wrong – I don’t see this as a negative but rather think that it’s a good thing. To have my perceptions challenged periodically and also to see how other people might interpret the same stories in a different way helps me to get out of my own head sometimes.
So, good on ya mate and I can’t wait to actually get my hands on a copy!
Chris, the majority of the book involves things I couldn’t ever go near on the blog. I think you’re probably right to feel that way. I’ll be interested to see who you think I am when you’re done reading it.
You know, it’s not even really about the story details. It just didn’t FEEL somehow like the we were thinking about same person. I guess this is a good example of “writer’s voice” differences more than anything. (grin)

I just read your book (my aunt’s a librarian, she hooks me up with sweet reads that aren’t yet available to the masses), and I loved it! I really can’t put into words how much your story touched me, but I will say that there were several times my husband had to remind me that, “You can’t just laugh out loud like that and not explain it to me!” Keep up the good work. As for me, I’m definitely going to recommend that the Jackson County Library System get several copies of the World’s Strongest Librarian.
