Book Giveaway! The Round House by Louise Erdrich

Associates,

To start the year off right, I’m going to clear a tiny bit of space off my shelf and cross “tidy up” off of my resolutions list.

I’m giving away a copy of The Round House by Louise Erdrich.  If you’d like to be in the running, please leave a comment telling us all about a goal you’re chasing in 2013.

On February first I’ll draw names out of a hat and mail the winner his/her copy.

Josh

One of my goals for 2013 is to give birth sans drugs– I’m due Feb 16 so it won’t be long. The Round House is on my to-read list and I can’t wait to read it!

Cross off “Mastery” on my reading list.
Finish my thesis and get an adult job. :)

What are you studying?

I have a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and rhetoric and will finish up a masters degree in Psychology in Languages at the University of Copenhagen (though if I had to translate it myself, I’d probably call it The Psychology of Language). Pretty sure it doesn’t exist anywhere else,- it’s a pretty much a cross between linguistics, anthropology, sociologi and communications , give or take. :)
Was led onto your blog from Boris Bachmann’s :)

You sound like just the sort of brainiac Boris hangs with. Good luck on the thesis.

One of my goals is to redraft a novel before I get married in June! Is that two goals?

Happy New Year!

Congratulations! If it’s two goals, they’re both good.

Happy New Year,

Goal for this year is to finally get myself back to school and get a degree that will help me elevate myself within Geisinger …

Self publish my book and lose 30 pounds.
That’s it for now. Let’s see how February looks like.

My goal for 2013 is to harvest enough potatoes to get us through next winter. This will involve clearing space for a new garden, planting the proper number of spuds, and fixing the root cellar, so it’s a multi-stage goal.

My goal: recover. I had a stroke-like episode in November, and it left my left side significantly weaker than my right. I’m recovering slowly – but at least I’m recovering. I want to be able to walk to work again – less than a mile, but more than half.

I’m sorry, Daisy. I hope the recovery goes as well as possible.

I’m working on the read 1 book a week for the entire year goal. My first book is “Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell” by Susanna Clarke, though, so I’m already going to have to do some catch-up. It should be fun, though. I’m looking forward to adding your book to that list when it’s published!

That’s a big one to start with, but one of my favorites. Please let me know what you think when you’re done.

I am also attempting to read 1 book each week for the year. As I most often have a book in my hand, it isn’t a lofty goal. However, the lofty goal of the year is to complete a half-marathon and as a new runner (only 4 months running so far), that should be the goal that looms largest.

I have just found your blog so now I have 2 goals for 2013. The first goal is to create a books read/books review blog. The new second goal is to read your book!! And hopefully review it on my new site!! It sounds so GOOD and is recommended as one of the books to watch for in 2013! I can’t wait! Thanks for the chance! Terri
