First of all, I love a lot of Christmas music.
Now then, with that out of the way…
I think this is the third year running that I have hoped for a worthy successor to The Cat Carol. What’s that? You don’t know what The Cat Carol is? Well, it’s only the worst Christmas song in the history of history. It is Nickelback combined with Matchbox 20 combined with canned green beans and the most disgusting cough syrup imaginable. See/listen for yourself:
Tough to top this one. And yet, I hold out hope.
As we drive around town we’ve been listening to the Christmas station. The plodding of The Little Drummer Boy remains my least favorite traditional song. The melody of Greensleeves is still one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time moves me to lofty heights of rage within two notes. The Christmas Shoes is…well, give it a listen: if you haven’t died of treacle by the second verse you’ve a heartier constitution that I do.
Dazzle me! Who’s got a nominee?
