John Irving Books

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

Good grief. When I sat down to enter this list of John Irving books, I had this idea that he’d only written a few novels. I’m not sure why because I’ve read them all. Getting old, losing my mind, I suppose.

Here’s how I usually do these posts of author bibliographies: I’ll list the books John Irving has written below. Then I’ll venture out into the blog over the next little while and get full reviews of them all, which will then be linked to from this page.

If you get impatient and want to write a review for me, just say the word.

Let’s start with the John Irving novels.

Setting Free the Bears

The Water-Method Man

The 158-Pound Marriage

The World According to Garp

The Hotel New Hampshire

The Cider House Rules

A Prayer for Owen Meany

A Son of the Circus

A Widow For One Year

The Fourth Hand

A Widow for One Year

Until I Find You

Last Night in Twisted River

In One Person (released later in 2012)

My personal favorites are Garp and Owen Meany.

Short story collection

Trying to Save Piggy Sneed

The Imaginary Girlfriend
