Kendrick Farris is one of my heroes. A world class athlete, and obviously he’s incredibly strong. I never get tired of seeing someone–and Mr. Farris is rarely going to be the biggest guy in the room, he competed in the 85kg weight class at the 2008 Olympic games–support weight overhead that plenty of people can’t even deadlift.
My heart jumps a bit when he catches this overhead because he’s wobbling all over, but few PRs are pretty.
If you’re an Olympic weightlifting fan and you wonder about the state of US Olympic lifting, Lyle McDonald has written a fantastic (and long) series on “Why the US Sucks at Olympic Lifting” over on www.bodyrecomposition.com.
