The Bearhug deadlift is an interesting movement. If you’re a strong puller, this will still give you a great challenge. Over most of 2011 I wasn’t able to attempt this as I was waiting on some thoracic mobility issues to sort themselves out, but now that I can move well in this range, it’s becoming one of my new favorites.
Strongman Adam T. Glass here is pulling 362 lbs and, as usual, making it look very easy.
If you’re looking for something new to keep things lively, give it a shot. (and be careful, start light)
