Another hour on desk, another good question. How many bones are in the human body?
According to the New Atlas of Human Anatomy, Wikipedia, and my own genius, there are 206 bones in the human body.
These bones are divided between two skeletons. The axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton.
The appendicular skeleton comprises the bones of the appendages: arms, legs, feet, hands.
The axial skeleton comprises all of the other bones: torso and spine, essentially.
An interesting fact that I did not know–babies have a lot more bones than adults, because many of their bones have not yet fused with other structures.
Along with how many miles in a light year? it’s been a good couple of days at work.
