Two Acoustic Guitar Pieces From Last Night

It had been a while since I’d played the guitar. I don’t know why. But last night I heard it calling to me from the corner of the room, buried behind a stack of books. A couple of hours later I had remembered how to play a couple of songs that I wrote a few years ago.

Neither one of these acoustic guitar pieces is that polished, but I think they both have some very nice moments.

If any of you play and are interested, I’m playing a Canadian brand: Seagull. These guitars have massive necks that are about the width of the fretboards you would find on a classical guitar. I can’t play chords like A Major with a narrower neck. (at least not without mashing it down with one finger and not being able to have the high open E sound).

Enjoy!

What kind of recording setup did you use? Nicely evocative — makes me want to take up guitar!

    Nice!

I liked the two songs; especially the first one (it evoked open fields for me: like the sea or a view over the mountains). You can definitely pull out nice sounds from that instrument (I am an acoustic guitar player mysel).

You sure are a big guy, my friend. I wouldn’t like to see you mad (by the way, are you still angry at me for my lousy comment on your comic portrait – I am glad I don’t live nowhere near Utah).
