1. World’s Strongest Librarian is about to turn two years old. I am very happy about this. My buck-toothed, gawky toddler of a blog is as graceless as ever, and has survived and thrived the helplessness of its infancy.
2. On March 31 I have been invited to guest lecture at the University of Utah. I will be addressing a big linguistics class called, I kid you not, “Swearing and linguistics.” That is a class I would have taken.
3. On August 9 in Minneapolis I will be the opening keynote speaker for the Pacer Symposium. You can read about PACER here. As far as I can tell, registration is free and I’d love to meet any of you that are out there in the area. It is going to be a career-defining performance, I guarantee it.
And on that note, if any of you work in jobs or organizations that are ever looking for speakers, I’m interested in getting more experience and will seldom cost more than a plane ticket as it stands now. I’m already very good at speaking, but will never turn down a chance to practice more if anyone thinks it might help their cause or company or whatever.
Unless of course, they expect me to pay them for the pleasure:)
